Biography

Madhusudan Atre brings more than 25 years of leadership experience in the semiconductor and solar industries. Dr. Atre has held country head responsibilities at AMD, Applied Materials India, LSI India, Agere Systems India, Lucent Technologies Microelectronics India. He also held senior management responsibilities at Texas Instruments India. As a CEO and Founder of Vegashakti Consultants, he works with universities and start-ups in consulting/advisory capacities. He has been the Co-chairman of SEMI PV India Advisory Committee, a member of the Advisory Committee of the National Center for Photovoltaic Research and Education (NCPRE) in IIT-Bombay, Technical Guidance Committee member of center for Cyber Physical Systems in IISc (Bangalore). He was the founding Executive Council Member of the India Semiconductor Association (ISA), member Solar Committee of the Federation of the Indian Chamber of Commerce & Industries, and Energy Committee and Energy Cooperation Program of the American Chamber of Commerce. Dr. Atre received Ph.D. in Theoretical Physics from the Indian Institute of Science (IISc)-Bangalore; and has held research positions at Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Physical Research Laboratory, as well as at universities in the U.S. and Italy. He has more than 60 technical papers, media articles, and thought leadership articles.
